Hole by hole
Hole 1Par 3 · 143 yards
Wind: 8 mph, right to left. On the hole: Island green.
All carry and no bailout. Take enough club for the middle of the green — short is wet, and the thin collar only just holds.
Hole 2Par 5 · 493 yards
Wind: 10 mph, helping. On the hole: Portal green, The arm, A gust band, Cart path, 4 bunkers.
A portal green sits short of the real one. Sink it and you come out beside the pin — but a ball that misses it stops dead, so only go for it with a clean strike.
Hole 3Par 3 · 162 yards
Wind: 8 mph, right to left. On the hole: Cart path, 1 bunker.
162 yards, playing about 162 with the wind — on paper a 6 iron. Aim at the front half: the green rolls out.
Hole 4Par 4 · 354 yards
Wind: 6 mph, helping. On the hole: Portal green, Cart path, 3 bunkers.
A portal green sits short of the real one. Sink it and you come out beside the pin — but a ball that misses it stops dead, so only go for it with a clean strike.
Hole 5Par 4 · 421 yards
Wind: 7 mph, right to left. On the hole: The arm, 3 bunkers.
The arm sweeps a stretch of the hole and knocks the ball clear. You can't shoot around it, so land short of it or beyond it.
Hole 6Par 4 · 321 yards
Wind: 7 mph, right to left. On the hole: The arm, A gust band, Water, 2 bunkers.
The arm sweeps a stretch of the hole and knocks the ball clear. You can't shoot around it, so land short of it or beyond it.
Hole 7Par 3 · 168 yards
Wind: 10 mph, helping, right to left. On the hole: Cart path, Water, 1 bunker.
168 yards, playing about 163 with the wind — on paper a 6 iron. Aim at the front half: the green rolls out.
Hole 8Par 4 · 360 yards
Wind: 9 mph, helping, right to left. On the hole: A gust band, 4 bunkers.
A band of fast air crosses the hole. Fly over it or stay under it — what you can't do is hang the ball in it.
Hole 9Par 5 · 495 yards
Wind: 12 mph, helping, right to left. On the hole: 2 bunkers.
A long one at 495 yards. Keep both shots on the fairway — it rolls out nearly five times further than rough — and the green comes back to you. A following wind adds carry and roll here.
