Hole by hole
Hole 1Par 4 · 402 yards
Wind: 13 mph, helping, right to left. On the hole: Portal green, Water, 2 bunkers.
A portal green sits short of the real one. Sink it and you come out beside the pin — but a ball that misses it stops dead, so only go for it with a clean strike. A following wind adds carry and roll here.
Hole 2Par 4 · 384 yards
Wind: 8 mph, helping. On the hole: Cart path, 3 bunkers.
The cart path runs about twice as far as fairway. On a straight stretch it's worth aiming at on purpose.
Hole 3Par 4 · 312 yards
Wind: 8 mph, right to left. On the hole: The arm, A gust band, 3 bunkers.
The arm sweeps a stretch of the hole and knocks the ball clear. You can't shoot around it, so land short of it or beyond it.
Hole 4Par 3 · 145 yards
Wind: 12 mph, helping. On the hole: Island green, A gust band.
All carry and no bailout. Take enough club for the middle of the green — short is wet, and the thin collar only just holds.
Hole 5Par 5 · 570 yards
Wind: 9 mph, helping. On the hole: Portal green, Lava pool, 3 bunkers.
A portal green sits short of the real one. Sink it and you come out beside the pin — but a ball that misses it stops dead, so only go for it with a clean strike.
Hole 6Par 6 · 860 yards
Wind: 10 mph, helping, right to left. On the hole: The arm, A gust band, Cart path, 4 bunkers, Basalt rock.
The arm sweeps a stretch of the hole and knocks the ball clear. You can't shoot around it, so land short of it or beyond it.
Hole 7Par 4 · 339 yards
Wind: 13 mph, right to left. On the hole: Cart path, 3 bunkers.
The cart path runs about twice as far as fairway. On a straight stretch it's worth aiming at on purpose. Allow for the wind pushing the ball left.
Hole 8Par 3 · 201 yards
Wind: 11 mph, helping, right to left. On the hole: Cart path, 2 bunkers.
201 yards, playing about 194 with the wind — on paper a 4 iron. Aim at the front half: the green rolls out.
Hole 9Par 4 · 426 yards
Wind: 9 mph, helping, right to left. On the hole: The arm, Water, Lava pool, 2 bunkers.
The arm sweeps a stretch of the hole and knocks the ball clear. You can't shoot around it, so land short of it or beyond it.
