Hole by hole
Hole 1Par 4 · 438 yards
Wind: 8 mph, against, left to right. On the hole: A gust band, Water, 4 bunkers.
A band of fast air crosses the hole. Fly over it or stay under it — what you can't do is hang the ball in it.
Hole 2Par 6 · 881 yards
Wind: 5 mph, against, left to right. On the hole: Portal green, The arm, A gust band, 5 bunkers.
A portal green sits short of the real one. Sink it and you come out beside the pin — but a ball that misses it stops dead, so only go for it with a clean strike.
Hole 3Par 4 · 415 yards
Wind: 7 mph, left to right. On the hole: The arm, Water, 2 bunkers.
The arm sweeps a stretch of the hole and knocks the ball clear. You can't shoot around it, so land short of it or beyond it.
Hole 4Par 3 · 151 yards
Wind: 11 mph, left to right. On the hole: 3 bunkers.
151 yards, playing about 153 with the wind — on paper an 8 iron. Aim at the front half: the green rolls out. Allow for the wind pushing the ball right.
Hole 5Par 4 · 354 yards
Wind: 9 mph, left to right. On the hole: The arm, Cart path, 2 bunkers.
The arm sweeps a stretch of the hole and knocks the ball clear. You can't shoot around it, so land short of it or beyond it. Allow for the wind pushing the ball right.
Hole 6Par 5 · 570 yards
Wind: 11 mph, against, left to right. On the hole: 3 bunkers.
A long one at 570 yards. Keep both shots on the fairway — it rolls out nearly five times further than rough — and the green comes back to you.
Hole 7Par 4 · 311 yards
Wind: 12 mph, left to right. On the hole: A gust band, 3 bunkers.
A band of fast air crosses the hole. Fly over it or stay under it — what you can't do is hang the ball in it. Allow for the wind pushing the ball right.
Hole 8Par 4 · 310 yards
Wind: 8 mph, left to right. On the hole: Cart path, 1 bunker.
The cart path runs about twice as far as fairway. On a straight stretch it's worth aiming at on purpose.
Hole 9Par 3 · 175 yards
Wind: 6 mph, left to right. On the hole: Cart path, 1 bunker.
175 yards, playing about 175 with the wind — on paper a 6 iron. Aim at the front half: the green rolls out.
