Event · 21–31 October
The Spooky Forest
From 21 to 31 October every daily course is the Spooky Forest: the pine forest at dusk, with a lake and a haunted mansion beside every hole. It plays by the usual rules, with two obstacles in disguise and four rewards to earn.
A haunted course every day
For eleven days the daily nine takes on the Spooky Forest look: darker woods, gravestones, bats overhead and a glowing mansion beside each hole. Everyone still plays the same course on the same day, and the leaderboard works exactly as normal. After the event, a rare haunted day can still turn up now and then.
The ghost
The ghost takes the place of the forest's squirrel. It haunts an uneven patch of a landing zone, and a ball that stops in it is carried back down the hole to its crypt in the deep rough. There is no penalty stroke, but deep rough is a hard lie and you lose the yards. The patch is in plain sight, so you can plan around it.
Jack-o'-lanterns
Jack-o'-lanterns play exactly like the highland kick boulders. A rolling ball that hits one is blocked, then kicked hard up the hole. Fly over it, go around it, or use the kick for extra distance when the fairway beyond is open.
Event rewards
The Spooky Forest has its own quests, shown in the Quests menu. Play 3 Spooky days for the Ghost trail. Finish one Spooky round under par for the Lantern trail. Play 7 Spooky days for the Jack-o'-lantern ball. Play all 11 days for the Haunted tag to wear next to your name.
Event rewards can only be earned while the event is on, and they are free for everyone — you just need to be signed in to claim them. Once earned they are yours to keep.
Quick tips
- Spot the ghost's patch before every tee shot on the longer holes.
- Treat jack-o'-lanterns as kick boulders and use the rebound when it is safe.
- Play every day of the event if you want the Haunted tag — it needs all 11.
- Sign in before the event starts so every day counts towards the rewards.
